NEWS: Enticing Lots in Bishop & Miller's Oriental Art & Antiques Auction

Bishop & Miller’s Oriental Art & Antiques Auction is taking place on Wednesday 31st July 2019 from 10am at its Stowmarket Salerooms. This specialist Sale includes books, furniture, Silver, Porcelain and works of art as well as other sought-after collectible items. One of the most highly anticipated lots is the Fine floral Chinese porcelain vase (Qianlong six character mark, Lot 320) which has an estimate of £2,000-£3,000. This vase was purchased by the vendor's Grandfather while in Calcutta in around 1939 - 1945 for the sum of £8.  

Also included in this Sale is the impressive Lot 16, a fine Japanese Meiji period Shibayama three case ivory Inro (19th century) which formed part of the well-known Tomkinson Collection. This Collection was one of the finest assortments of Japanese Art formed in the Victorian period and the collection formed the book Specimens of Japanese art: from the collection of Michael Tomkinson (published in 1899). The piece on offer in this Auction can be seen on page 126 and numbered 311 of this publication.
